Experimental Study on Conservation Tillage System in Areas of Two Crops a Year in North China Plain

    • The conventional tillage pattern of two crops a year in North China Plain has played a very important role. But it has hindered sustainable agricultural development. Conservation tillage technology is an advanced technology which can protect soil from erosion and can keep soil moisture. Based on field experiments, the effects of conservation tillage system on yield, moisture content, soil temperature and soil bulk density were studied. The preliminary results show that conservation tillage technology can increase yield and moisture content of soil, and the effects of conservation tillage on soil temperature and soil bulk density do no harm to plants' growing. But in the long run, the effects of conservation tillage on soil temperature and soil bulk density need to be further studied. The results show that the conservation tillage in North China Plain is adaptable.
