Abstract
Soil erosion in irragated land is becoming a more and more interested problem to people in the world. Simulated laboratory experiments with mini-flume were conducted to study the influences on furrow irrigation induced soil erosion of typical soil from Hetao Irrigation Scheme, Inner Mongolia. From the mini-flume experimental data, the impacts of PAM and interruption time on reduction of soil erosion under influences of slope grade and inflow rate were quantitatively analyzed. The results show that PAM can reduce soil erosion in irrigated land greatly, and the land slope is the most important factor to soil erosion in surface irrigated land. While the flow rate of irrigation water into furrow and off-time of surge irrigation are not very effective factors on it.
