Farm landscape design and planning and application of 3S

Farm landscape design and planning is a systematic project, which can harmonize the relationship between farmland productivity and the sustainable utilization of farmland. It is also important in order to maintain a diversity of species on the farmland. There is a developing trend in global eco-agriculture that requires farmland ecosystems not only to satisfy production functions but also to harmonize social, economic and ecological benefits in a reasonable manner. This trend recognises the need for harmony between human beings and the natural environment. The paper discussed the arrangement, the principles, the steps, the contents and the methods of farm landscape design and planning. It also introduced the application of 3S in farm landscape design and planning, in order for it to be promoted and used in reference to farm landscape design and planning in China.
