Research and implementation of integrated cross-platform development of GIS in distribution network

Geographic Information System (GIS) in the distribution network has a close contact with the other sections of Distribution Management System (DMS). It is the demand of the development of DMS for introducing GIS to Distribution System. The main function of GIS is embodied in the organic combination of GIS and other systems such as FM/AM, SCADA, MIS, CIS, etc.. Then GIS can provide powerful data and graphic platform for DMS. It is necessary to make integrated cross-platform development for the requirement of the modernized, overall and real-time information management, establishment of public service platform and improvement of the system performance. An example of integrating method with Visual C++ and MapInfo under Windows environment is given to accomplish an application integrated map. By this method, the combination of the spatial data in GIS and other attribute data and some functions of integrated development can be realized.
