Wind facing control system of concentrated wind energy turbine

The wind facing control system is very important to ensure wind turbine generator to run well. Concentrated wind energy turbine has the characteristic of low launching-wind-speed, long-time-generating and good electric power quality. The special structure feature and shape flow field require a special control system. According to the structure feature of it, a closed-loop control system based on 89C51 microcontroller and a large driving ratio mechanically-driven machanism, which consists of direct current decelerate motor and decelerate machine of wormgear and worm, were developed in this paper. The whole system could face the wind automatically when the wind direction angle was greater than ±15°, and would stop when the wind speed was greater than 25 m/s, which meets the requirements of design. Cable tangle and unmooring of it were considered in program designing, and this saved the checking labor of cable tangle for manager and simplifies the maintenance management. This system may be used on middle and large scale interconnected to grid generating set of concentrated wind energy turbine.
