The forestry in the Eastern Mountain Area is the natural green barrier of Liaoning Province, and possesses great ecological and economic values. The 6 counties share the most of the forestry resources in Liaoning Province. Traditionally, a lot of firewood is used in the farmers' daily life. So, there were a lot of water and soil losses, and the ecological environment worsened.
