    Development of LPG engine based on the single-cylinder direct injection diesel engine and investigation of its combustion process

    • Single-cylinder diesel engine is widely used in China and the Chinese government has paid much attention to the water pollution of the rivers and lakes. Under this condition, from optimizing the parameters of the mixture chamber of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas(LPG) delivery system, designing the parameters of the combustion system, controlling the spark energy and ignition advanced angle, a single-cylinder and spark ignition LPG engine based on the ZS1100 Direct Injection(D.I). Diesel engine without modifying the key components of the ZS1100 D.I. Diesel engine such as the helical duct was designed. Performance tests and combustion process analysis indicate that single cylinder LPG engine acquires the fine integrated performance. It can replace the single cylinder Diesel engine as the power equipment applied to the transport ships and the sight seeing ships. Using LPG engine can reduce water pollution, noise and smoke emission and can improve the people's working environment, therefore LPG engine is a green and environment ally-friendly power equipment.
