Abstract
The effects of temperature and steam velocity of medium and the thickness of buckwheat on specific energy consumption, the moisture extraction rate, moisture extraction amount, additional crack percentage were studied by using orthogonal rotary design method. Taking the specific energy consumption as objective function, the technological parameters were optimized by the restriction compound calculation method. The optimum conditions on the present apparatus were as follows: temperature was 100℃, steam velocity was 3.6 m/s, thickness was 56 mm. All of these will contribute to the design of steamed buckwheat dryers, operation and adjustment of existing dryers.
