Heat and mass transfer for drying process of porous media

Abstract
In this paper, on the base of non-equilibrium thermodynamic theory and phase equilibrium principle, a two-dimension mathematical model for convective drying of porous media was established. In this model, the coupled heat and mass transfer phenomena was considered enough. The mathematical model for corn drying was established and the solution was gained by using integral method and implicit different scheme. Moreover, the simulated results were compared with experimental data. The results indicated that the coefficient of surface heat convection, the temperature and humidity of dried material affected the process of heat and mass transfer greatly. The coefficient of surface mass convection didn't affect the process of mass transfer. Furthermore, the coupling of temperature and humidity gradient induced the local humidity increase phenomena.
