Effect of liquid film mulching on cotton yield and soil environment

    • Based on the theory of sustainable development of cotton field, the effects of liquid film mulching on cotton yield and soil physical properties were studied. The results indicated that application of reasonable amount of liquid film (112.5 kg/hm2) mulching averagely increased lint yield by 21.7%. Covering with liquid film mulching raised soil temperature and moisture, decreased soil bulk density, and had no adverse impacts on the soil environment. Therefore, it is a feasible technique to utilize the liquid mulching film in cotton field.
