Abstract
To assess the feasibility of swine waste water treatment by using membrane bioreactor and provide the design and application parameters, experiments with U shape and L shape hollow fibre membrane were conducted under four operation conditions with different influent COD and ammonia nitrogen concentrations, different DO levels and SRTs in the reaction water. The results confirmed the feasibility of MBR as swine waste water aerobic treatment stage and showed that the third operation condition was the most effective. When the average influent COD concentration was 1860 mg/L, the removal rates of U shape and L shape membrane were 84.1%, 81.2%, respectively, the removal rates of NH+4-N were 93.81% in U shape membrane and 93.61% in L shape membrane respectively when the influent NH+4-N concentration was 511 mg/L on average.
