Sharing and exploitation of network-based agricultural information resources

Natural resources or agricultural product factors have exclusive and expendable property, while agricultural information resources represent contrary characteristics. When combined with other resources, it can increase agricultural productivity. Currently, Internet is a primary carrier of agricultural information. High-efficiency sharing and deep exploitation are the key to utility of information resources. Taking farm products demand and supply information as an example, this paper induces characteristics of agricultural information resources on Internet as being updated frequently and distributed storage. The article points out the problems and shortcomings on sharing and exploitation. Finally, a solution based on Browser/Server structure and ActiveX component technology was provided.
