Water absorbency and its influence factor of PAM-atta superabsorbent composite

Abstract
PAM-atta superabsorbent composite was prepared by grafting acrylamide onto attapulgite clay in aqueous solution. The swelling rate, water retention ability and swelling behaviors in various saline solutions of PAM-atta superabsorbent composite were investigated. The results indicated that PAM-atta superabsorbent composite had high water absorbency and better salt-resistance. The general properties of composite are better than those of single polyacylamide absorbent.
