Abstract
A water-saving irrigation system based on fuzzy control was developed. The transpiration of the crops and soil water potential are regarded as input variables and the required-water capacity of the crops is regarded as the output variable. The controlled variable was acquired by fuzzification of input variable, fuzzy inferential and de-fuzzification. The system is based on Samsung MCU. The transpiration and soil water potential were measured by transmitter. The irrigation system is based on the segmental fuzzy control strategy. The results show that the system can calculate the required-water capacity of the crops promptly and fulfill water-saving irrigation.
