Abstract
Nitrogen mineralization is an important process that determines soil nitrogen supplying ability. The objective of this study was to examine the net nitrogen mineralization rate of three different types of temperate grassland soil using the resin-core technique and to evaluate the application of the resin core incubation technique in temperate grassland. The results showed that during the incubation period, the net nitrogen mineralization rate of the stipa baicalensis meadow steppe, the Aneulolepidum Chinense steppe and the Stipa grandis steppe was 0.035, 0.120 and 0.125 kg/(hm2·d), respectively. Resin-core technique caused fewer disturbances to grassland soil processes, and was an effective technique for studying the net nitrogen mineralization in the field.
