Influence of P deficiency on different genotype tomato seedling

    • The influences of P deficiency in nine tomato genotypes collected from the world were studied in nutrient solution culture. The results indicated that genetic variation existed within the tested tomatoes under low P condition. Tomato genotypes No.37 and No.25 had relatively high P efficiency in low P condition, they are relatively higher in biomass, Root/Shoot ratio and P content. Low P affected root P uptake. The results confirmed some influences on tomato seedling under low P conditions, but these influences should be further verified by linkage analysis with the molecular marker technique.
