Abstract
In order to study the effects of different row spacings on soil evaporation, evapotranspiration (ET) and grain yield of winter wheat, a field experiment was conducted on Luancheng Agro-ecology Station of Chinese Academy of Sciences between 2002 and 2003. The results showed soil evaporation and ET increased when row spacing became wider and WUE decreased. The significant effects of row spacings on soil evaporation occurred in April at p=0.05, the effects were not differenct from December to March and 7.5 cm row spacing and 30 cm row spacing showed difference at other growing stages. Soil evaporations measured under 7.5 cm row spacing decreased 13.26 mm and 29.04 mm, ET decreased 22.76 mm and 51.88 mm, and Water Use Efficiency (WUE) increased 0.11 kg/m3 and 0.23 kg/m3 than that of 15 cm and 30 cm row spacing, respectively.
