Abstract
In the light of the natural resources of 62.42×108 m3 surface water and 4.94×108 m3 groundwater and the contradiction of consuming 70.44×108 m3 water resource in the Hexi corridor of Gansu Province, the effects of water on Hexi corridor were analyzed. Only by relying on decreasing water evaporation, saving agricultural consumption of water, raising use efficiency and production efficiency of irrigation water, the water resource balance can be realized. On the basis of experiments, a new conservation tillage method was proposed, through which the productivity increased by 60.78% and 41.29% water could be saved compared with traditional tillage method in the Hexi corridor.
