Structural design and performance test of dust sampler for wind erosion measurements

    • Wind erosion is one of the primary reasons leading to land degration and causing environmental problems in the world. In order to exactly understand the movement rule of windblown particles and to direct measurement selection of preventing wind erosion, a dust sampler was developed to trap windblown particles for a wind erosion field study. The isokinetic, high efficiency and selection of dust sampler was tested in the wind tunnel experiment. The results indicate that the dust sampler shows better satisfication for isokinetic. The sampler collection efficiency is about 85.6%, which can be used as a correction factor of sediment transportation. The sampler is suited to trap the soil particles moved in saltation.
