Influence of organic matter content on infiltration capacity and parameter in field soils

    • Based on the water infiltration experiments into loams in the field, the influences of organic matter content on cumulative infiltration, infiltration parameters of Kostiakov infiltration equations, and the change of infiltration capacity of field soils were analyzed and discussed in this paper. The results indicated that infiltration capacity increased while the organic matter in soils increased, and infiltration parameters k and α of soils decreased while the organic matter increased. The result is of practical meaning in developing prediction model for soils infiltration and instructing the field irrigation.
