Construction land expansion and its relationship with cultivated land in Beijing mountainous areas

    • Based on the land use survey data and land use change data combined with two periods of land use maps, the status of construction land spatialchange was analyzed and conpared, and the characteristics and spatial-temporaldifferences of construction land exparsion could be accurately analyzed, the landscape patterns of construction land dynamic changes were analyzed. And then thecorrelation between the cultivated land and the construction land was discussed. The result indicated that the expansion of construction land became accelerating annually with the characteristics of both circularity and abnormity, which produced great pressure on the cultivated land protection, especially the cultivated land ofhigh quality in the suburb. In the future, the expansion of construction land should be regulated by compiling a scientific land use planning so as to prevent the cultivated land from being occupied too much.
