Measurement of solid manure collection and composition in a concentrated pig farm

To investigate amount of solid manure collection from pigs of different feeding stages in typical concentrated pig farm，the amount of collection excretion and related nutrient value were measured and analyzed in Beilangzhong Pig Farm during 2004～2005. The amount of collection solid manure per day for later period gestation，first period gestation，farrowing，finishing and nursery pigs are 2.19±1.10，1.22±0.31，1.27±0.32, 0.75±0.26 and (0.47±0.14) kg·d^-1 μ pig^-1. Average water content is 66% which is almost the same for different feeding stages，average volatility solid content is 81.8% for nursery and finishing pigs but 74.4% for farrowing and gestation pigs; nutrient value and heavy metal from nursery and finishing pig are a little more higher than farrowing and gestation pigs’.
