Experimental study of the adhesive from biomass tar

    • The biomass tar from crop stalk is harmful outgrowth in biomass gasification process. It causes environmental pollution, harms gasification system, abandons renewable resources, and lowers gasification efficiency. In this paper, according the first principles of producing adhesive, the quantity of biomass tar was changed to develop a new adhesive. The new adhesive was used to formulate different materials and some properties such as appearance, density, acidity, solidified speed, nonvolatile content, intensities of elongating and peeling were tested and measured. The experiment proves that the content of the biomass tar affects greatly the nature of adhesive, when the content of the biomass tar reaches 17.5%, the intensities of elongating and peeling are higher, furthermore, the effect of adhesive is best. This adhesive is put into use to lumber, rubber and paper material.
