Sprinkler configuration method and mathematical model of center-pivot irrigation system

Abstract
Based on the constraints of mechanical structure, according to the initial parameters——irrigation depth in unit time and rotation speed of center-pivot irrigation system, the sprinkler configuration method was researched, and a mathematical model for sprinkler configuration was founded, and a software for sprinkler configuration was developed. The optimal sprinkler configuration of center-pivot irrigation system can be obtained with the model, at the same time, the demand flow and head pressure were given. The applicability of the mathematical model is great, and this model can be utilized on center pivot irrigation systems with different lengthes. This model and software are significant to improve the uniformity of water distribution of center-pivot irrigation system and exert the best capability of pump for center-ivot irrigation system.
