Research on shaft of gear pump repaired by arc-sprayed 3Cr13

Abstract
In order to attain the excellent properties of 3Cr13 arc-sprayed coatings, the influences of arc spraying technological parameters on the adhesive strength and wearing resistance of 3Cr13 coating were studied by orthogonal design test, extreme analysis and variance analysis. The test results show that the ordering of the parameters influencing the adhesive strength is as follows in turn: the spraying current, spraying distance and spraying pressure. As for wearing resistance, the ordering became spraying current, spraying pressure and spraying distance. Taking the influence extent of tested factors and combination properties of coatings into account, the technological parameters of arc-spraying wire 3Cr13(Φ2 mm) were optimized as follows: spraying voltage: 35V, spraying current: 180 A, spraying distance: 180 mm, spraying pressure: 0.6 MPa. The experience of repairing the shaft of gear pump indicated that the optimized arc spraying technology was feasible to repair the worn parts of gear pump.
