    Design of a prototype of virtual plant combining L-system and image-based modeling

    • A prototype system of virtual plant based on both L-system and image modeling is proposed in this paper. The main ideas of this method are as follows: the main parts of branch and leaf of plant are constructed by L-system; the remainder details of the plant are described by the venation model of plant organ surface. In the given prototype system, the controllability of plant growth model is improved by rule-model, reducing the complexity of plant model and enhancing the visual presentation of virtual plant growth. The experiment results that the prototype is feasible.
