Abstract
Three-dimensional visualization of soil structure should help to better understand soil structure and its relationship with the function. Soil solid grain structure was described. Particle system is applied to simulate soil grain and realize visualization because soil structure has the obvious characteristic of fraction. First, nine basic shapes of soil particle were set up. Second, the soil bulk density and proportion were translated into particle quantity and initiated. Third, particles started moving with given kinematics function and collision disposal methods. After a period of time, the particle moving state achieved equilibrium. Finally, the virtual soil was created by pausing movement of particle at that time. To validate this model, three different soil parameters were inputted to create three-dimensional soil structure. The visual computation result and trend agree with actual circumstance approximately. This method primarily implements three-dimensional reconstruction of soil structure, which provides some studying and application values to a certain extent.
