Industrialized technology and economic benefit analysis for extracting feeding protein concentrates from rapeseed meal

    • Rapeseed meal is rich in protein. As a potential source of high quality protein suitable for consumption, rapeseed meal is limited in application and generalization because of many anti-nutritional materials, such as glucosinolate, phytic acid and mustard acid, etc. The industrialized development has been at a standstill due to the complex techniques and high producing costs. A detoxifying method with lower costs by aqueous solvent was presented in this paper. After detoxification, the protein concentrates contained more than 60%(d.b. %) protein and only 5μmol/g glucosinolates, the removal efficiency of phytic acid and polyphenols were 52% and 55%, respectively. At present, the static payback period of investment for the production line is about 1.5 years.
