Establishment of land use security pattern in Poyang Lake Region

Based on the former studies on land use optimization and security pattern, connotations of land use security patter were discovered and the principles and process of how to establish land use security pattern were put forward in this paper. Then, taken the demands of land as objective in 2015, land use security pattern was designed in study areas of Poyang Lake Region with the support of the geographic information system（GIS） by means of gross area control together with spatial pattern optimization considering the holistic benefits of ecology, society and economy. The results indicate that land use security pattern established not only satisfied land demand in area of each land use type in the prospected year, but also conformed to the regional eco-economic rule spatially. The research aimed at not only enriching the theory and method of land use security pattern, but also providing a basis for land sustainable use in Poyang lake Region..
