    Web-GIS and RS based spatial decision support system for revegetation in coal mine waste area

    • This paper presents a web-GIS and RS (remote sensing) based DSS (decision support system) that integrates GIS functions with easy-to-use graphic user interfaces. There are five models were integrated in the system that are revegetation potential evaluation model, revegetation scheme selection model, economic analysis model and soil prediction model. Besides the above models, the system provides a series of software tools for the assessment and decision of the revegetation based on IIS (Internet Information Server), ArcIMS, ArcSDE, SQL Server and ASP.NET(C#) technologies. The prototype system was proved to be useful from the selected units using. It can be used to help decision maker choose and plan their activities more effectively and scientifically to match situation of the coal mine waste area.
