Abstract
In this study, LISS4 satellite image was used to monitor wheat nitrogen status with remote sensing data. Two field experiments were carried out at Yancheng suburb on May 3, 2006, according to the pass time of IRS-P6 satellite-the plat form placed on the LISS4. Some correlation analyses between wheat nitrogen status and wheat canopy spectra information from the LISS4 image were made in this paper. The results showed that both wheat leaf area index (LAI) and leaf nitrogen content (LNC) have good correlation with the LISS4 different wavebands reflectance and vegetation indices RVI, NDVI, GNDVI. Among the different wavebands reflectance and vegetation indices, the band4 reflectance was most closely related to wheat nitrogen status in this study. Test results also indicated that LISS4 satellite image could be used to monitor wheat nitrogen status. This research offered theory basis for monitoring nitrogen status and precision management in large area wheat production using remote sensing technology.
