    Spatial distribution of soil Pb in Tongling areas based on multifractal method

    • Kriging interpolation cannot characterize singularity of spatial distribution due to its smoothing effect. The authors applied multifractal method to study the spatial distribution of soil Pb in Tongling. The result shows that the spatial distribution of Pb in soil in this area exhibits strong spatial self-similarity. The comparison between patterns of kriging and multifractal method indicates that the latter logically enhanced the estimation value in local area, and could reflect the singularity of spatial distribution more effectively. The method can be widely applied to the study of spatial distribution of element in soil, especially the heavy metal in soil of mining area.
