Abstract
The sewage pumping station is an important part of the sewage treatment system. By testing the sewage pumping station and analyzing the data of energy consumption, it was concluded that the flow rate and the total head of the pumping station with two pump operating were 6600 m3/h, 17.2 m respectively, which exceeded the requirement for wastewater treatment processes. Based on analyzing the balance between supply and demand, the impeller of the sewage pump was rebuilt for energy saving. Then the transformed impeller was tested and analyzed again. It was concluded that the flow rate and the total head were 5400 m3/h, 14.5 m respectively, which met the need for wastewater treatment processes and achieved the balance of supply and demand . The total shaft power can be saved by about 15%, and within one year the cost of rebuilding can be recovered. It realizes energy-saving in the pumping station.
