Numerical simulation of impedance characteristic of low-frequency ultrasonic nozzle for aeroponic culture

Abstract
In order to accelerate the process of design and manufacturing of low-frequency ultrasonic nozzle for aeroponic culture and reduce its cost of research and development, the circuit diagram of testing principles of its impedance was put forward, and the FEM model of its impedance analysis was developed. The static, modal and harmonic analysis was performed in ANSYS; static capacitance, natural frequencies for the short circuit (resonance) case and the open circuit (anti-resonance) case, dynamic resistance, frequency at half-power point, dynamic inductance and mechanical quality factor were computed via static, modal analysis and harmonic analysis. After the prototype of the nozzle was made, its impedance characteristic was carried out applying impedance analyzer and compared with the results of FEM simulation. The results show that all the parameters can be used as the calculation basis for the design of ultrasonic generator.
