Experimentation about subsoiling technique for conservation tillage

    • In view of the questions that the pillar subsoiler is often blocked by crop stubble and ruderal with its higher traction resistance in subsoiling, two solutions were presented. They are to fix a break shovel or a disc coulter in front of the big subsoil-shovel. These two mechanisms were designed and made, and the contradistinctive field experiments were carried out. The results showed that the performance of the subsoiler with disc coulter was better. Compared with the pillar subsoiler and the subsoiler with a break shovel, the traction resistance, power consumption and the width of scarification channel were reduced. The effect of incision for crop stubble and ruderal was improved significantly. The subsoiler with disc coulter can effectively restrain the evaporation of moisture in the soil, so it can be widely used in subsoiling in the corn-cover field.
