Analysis on the factors impacting ignition process of densified straw briquette fuel

Abstract
Type LLA-6 household cooking stove was used as experimental device. The factors investigated included three ignition-assisting agents, two shapes of chimney with three heights, ignition-assisting cover, and thickness of briquette fuel. Effect of those factors on ignition process was studied. The results showed that JC15 and CJ51 ignition-assisting agents achieved the best igniting results. The igniting time of the cone-shaped chimney with 1.5 m height was 51.3% as much as that of the column-shaped one. Densified Corn Straw Briquette Fuel (DCBF) thickness of 0.5~3 cm above the cover could guarantee the normal ignition, which was obviously better than that without cover. The nest piling shape of briquette fuel was found to be the best one. The study provides effective methods for immediate ignition of DCBF and a guarantee against wider applications of DCBF in China.
