Abstract
The electricity shortage can be effectively alleviated by developing household wind power generation system in vast rural areas. A model of household wind power generation system was created in Electro Magnetic Transient Program/Alternative Transient Program (EMTP/ATP) software package based on the mathematical models of wind speeds, wind turbine and permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG). Control strategy of household wind power generation system was developed and investigated in off-grid operation. Case studies were carried out in this paper and simulation results showed that control strategy proposed for off-grid based household wind power system can respond immediately to track winds and load changes
