Study on detection of tomato mosaic disease at early stage based on infrared thermal imaging

    • As leaf temperature and transpiration was negative related, infrared thermal imaging technology was used to study the relationship of temperature changes with the severity of tomato leaves infected by tomato mosaic virus under greenhouse condition, so as to provide a basis for the realization of early detection of tomato mosaic disease. The results showed that the temperature of lesions had a 0.5-1.2℃ higher than the normal leaves, especially when the disease can not be observed by naked eyes, but it can be detected by thermography. So the temperature discrepancy can indicate the severity of infected leaves, and temperature difference also can be an important index to identify whether the tomato plant infected with tomato mosaic disease. The thermal infrared imaging technology used in the early detection of tomato mosaic disease is feasible.
